TROY, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team trailed 61-59 at the half, but hosts Russell Sage College pulled away in the second half to defeat Keuka College 112-92 in an Empire 8 Conference game on Friday night.
Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) led Keuka College (0-10, 0-2 Empire 8) with 17 points. As a team, Keuka College hit 16 threes. Freshman Will Tehan (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) went a perfect 3-3 from deep.
Russell Sage College 112 vs. Keuka College 92
The two teams came out flying in a high-scoring first half. Russell Sage had the lead early, but Keuka College had an answer. Threes by Daniel Obunse (Queens, N.Y. / Flushing) and Will Tehan tied the game and gave the Wolves a 30-27 lead eight minutes into the game. The lead would ping back and forth, changing 12 times, during the first half. Russell Sage strung 10 points together towards the end of the half to build a 53-44 lead. Tehan was there with a three again to snap the run as the Wolves continued to battle. Keuka would shrink the margin down to one multiple times in the final minutes. The Wolves drew the game level at 59-59 with a Nana Oteng (Queens, N.Y. / Martin Luther) three with 34 seconds left. The Gators got a layup in the final seconds to lead 61-59 at the half.
The Gators would hold the lead throughout the second half. A three by DJ Billings (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Odyssey) cut the margin to one at 72-71 with 16 minutes left to play. Russell Sage would widen the gap as they pushed the lead to double-digits over the next seven minutes. Keuka College would trail by 12 with five minutes left, but the Gators went on a 16-0 run over the next three minutes to push their lead to 110-82. Keuka responded with 10 straight of their own, but they would run out of time as Russell Sage defeated the Wolves 112-92.

- Keuka College is now 1-2 all-time against Russell Sage College. The Gators ended Keuka's season last year, defeating the Wolves in the Empire 8 Tournament
- 59 points in the first half were the third most in a half in program history
- Keuka's 16 threes were one off the school record
- The Wolves had four players scoring in double figures. Milton led with 17. Daniel Obunse scored 12. Nana Oteng had 11 points and Will Tehan finished with 10 against the Gators
- Jahmr Jordan (Albany, N.Y. / Albany) led Keuka with seven rebounds and six assists
- Keuka shot a season-best 45.7% from three-point territory, going 16-35
Up Next for Keuka College: Saturday's game for Keuka College at Hartwick College has been postponed. No makeup date has been determined. The Wolves will return to the floor on Tuesday, January 25 as Keuka College travels to Elmira to face the Soaring Eagles.
