Neumann Out Shoots Cavaliers in Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team remained in the win column in Atlantic East Conference play, picking up an 84-46 win over Cabrini University on Monday evening.
 
Jalen Vaughns continued to lead the Knights, netted 25 points in the game while grabbing 14 rebounds. Tony James scored 16 points. KJ Speller added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Starr had nine board, eight assists and seven points. The team shot 49.3% from the floor.
 
The first three and a half minutes featured four lead changes and one tied score. A layup by Vaughns put the Knights up 8-7 and started a 9-0 run. The Cavaliers pulled to within three, 16-13, with 12 minutes left before halftime, but Neumann answered with the next four points. Leading by four, 30-26, with 2:48 on the clock, the Knights ended the half on a 7-2 run to take a 37-28 lead into the break.
 
A layup by Speller to start the second half put Neumann up by double-digits and the Knights never looked back. A three-pointer by TJ Lewis put the Knights up by 20+ points, 55-34. Neumann reached a 30+ point lead on a layup by Diby Keita midway through the half. Two free throws by Donovan Towson in the final minute sealed the third straight conference win for the Knights, 84-46. Neumann outscored Cabrini 47-18 in the second half.
