MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Basketball team welcomed a shorthanded Rockford University squad to the Todd Wehr Edgedome on Wednesday night for a NACC contest. The Eagles frontcourt was too much for the Regents as Jake Schroeckenthaler and Eli Hartjes combined for 66 points in a 98-79 conference win.

EAGLES 98, REGENTS 79
- The Eagles (3-5, 2-1 NACC) went inside early and often to the dynamic duo on Wednesday night. Schroeckenthaler finished the game with a career-best 35 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, while Hartjes added his third-straight 30-point effort, scoring 31 points to go along with 13 rebounds. They combined to shoot 28-of-48 from the floor. The duo also didn't miss from the free throw line, Hartjes going 7-for-7 and Schroeckenthaler 3-for-3.

- Edgewood College built a 44-32 halftime lead where Schroeckenthaler and Hartjes (34) outscored the Regents (32) in the first 20 minutes. Both players shot 7-of-13 from the floor in the opening half, while Caden Nelson added 8 first-half points on a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the field.

- Rockford (7-3, 2-2 NACC) had just nine active players and were missing reigning NACC Player of the Week, Brandon Emerick. The Eagles were able to wear down Rockford as the game went along. Edgewood College finished with a 60-52 advantage in points in the paint and won the battle of the boards, 43-33.

- Nelson, Baierl, and Sean Murray each chipped in eight points for the Eagles, while Dawson Hughes provided some outstanding perimeter defense off the bench. Murray made his first career start and scored all his eight points in the second half, including connecting on a couple of 3-point shots. The Eagles shot 40 percent from deep, once again limiting their attempts in going 4-for-10. Both Jake Dimovski and Austin Carlson added triples in the closing minutes.

- The Eagles once again shot the ball incredibly well, making 55.3 percent (42-for-76) from the floor, 40 percent from 3-point range, and 83.3 percent (10-for-12) from the foul line. They shot 62.2 percent (23-for-37) from the floor in the second half and 66.7 percent (4-for-6) from deep.

- The Regents were led by Micah Swenson, who gutted out a 25-point, 10-rebound effort, while playing 34-plus minutes.

- Both teams did a good job of staying out of foul trouble as they combined for just 21 fouls on Wednesday. The Eagles committed 10, while Rockford was whistled for 11 fouls.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Hartjes is on an incredible run with three-straight 30-point efforts. He leads the NACC in scoring, averaging 23.5 points per game, while also leading the conference with 10.8 rebounds per game. Schroeckenthaler (20.1 and 10) is third in the conference in both stat categories.

- The Eagles will visit Illinois Tech for a NACC game on Saturday. Note the opening tip is scheduled for 3:15 p.m., which is an hour earlier than typical Saturday NACC games for the Eagles.
