LANGHORNE, Pa. – Keystone men's basketball fell on the road to the Cairn Highlanders, 81-77, Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference play at the Mason Activity Center.
The second half saw a massive scoring swing as the Giants jumped out to an eight-point lead early. After a knotted up 68-68 game with under four minutes left, the Highlanders crashed in to take a seven-point advantage heading into the final minutes.
Tyler Barney (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter) got the bounce-back to land on a 3-pointer to make it a three-point game at the 0:33 mark, but a pair of subsequent fouls sent Cairn to the free-throw line to put the score away.
Outstanding Performers
- Tone Cockrell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Landon School) continued his hot week of play with a season-high 30 points, moving within eight points of reaching the 1,000-point career scoring mark. The graduate senior also had eight rebounds and six assists.
- Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western High) followed with 21 points.
- Starters Jalen Gregory (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) and Gary Brown (Pennsauken, N.J./Camden Catholic) both tallied up eight rebounds each.
- Cairn's Kameron Clark finished with a team-high 19 points and corralled 17 rebounds for a double-double.
- Dashaun Cain scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half to help the Highlanders surge to victory.
- Matt Lucas came off Cairn's bench to hit six 3-pointers with five of them in the second half.

- Lucas' 18 total points accounted for all of the Highlanders' bench points, edging Keystone's 12.
- The Giants had the advantage in points in the point, 28-20, and fast break points, 15-9.
- Keystone held a 41-38 halftime lead before being outscored 43-36 in the second half.
What's Next
- Keystone fell to 3-6 overall and split its early-season CSAC-slate at 1-1.
- The Giants will play in the York Invitational Dec. 10-11 in Jamaica, N.Y. First game is slated against Westfield State (7-2 overall) with tip-off at 5 p.m. Saturday's matchup will be against either York (2-4) or St. Joseph's Brooklyn (0-8).
- Cairn improved to 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the CSAC. The Highlanders will meet up with Valley Forge next.
- Keystone and Cairn will play again Jan. 29, 2022 at the Gambal Athletic Center.
