Coach Loughran Earns 300th Win

NEWARK, NJ | Rutgers University-Newark's men's basketball coach Joe Loughran notched his 300th career win when the Scarlet Raiders defeated Kean University on Wednesday, December 1. Loughran, coaching in his 21st season, now has an overall career record of 300-234. 

The Scarlet Raiders went into Union, NJ, and handed Kean University their first loss of the season, moving them to 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) to start the year. The men had their best shooting night of the season, shooting 61.7% from the floor, to secure their coach's 300th career win. 

Loughran joined the Scarlet Raiders in 2001 and has had immense success since joining. In his 21 seasons, he has two NCAA appearances, 12 NJAC Postseason appearances, and 12 ECAC Postseason appearances. 

A graduate of American International College, Loughran received a bachelor's degree in American Studies. He also has a master's degree in education from American Internation College, which he earned in 1999.
