FDU-Florham Men's Basketball Rolls Past The King's College (NY), 83-43

Madison, NJ (November 23) – Led by four student-athletes in double digits highlighted by an 11 point, 11 rebound double double by Matthew Johnson (Oak Ridge, NJ), the FDU-Florham men's basketball team defeated The King's College (NY), 83-43, tonight inside the Ferguson Recreation Center. 

FDU evened its record out to 3-3 heading into the Thanksgiving break, while The King's College fell to 2-4 on the year.

Jamal Santana (Randolph, NJ) led FDU with 15 points, while both Oliver Ortman (North Caldwell, NJ) and Carson Woods added 14 points apiece. Ortman also tallied seven rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals, while Woods notched five boards, one assist, one block and one steal.
 
Woods scored five of FDU's first seven points over the opening minute and a half of the contest. The Devils then went on a 12-2 run to open up their lead to 12 points at 25-13 following a three point shot from Ortman. After a basket by the Lions, the Devils ripped off an 11-1 run for their largest lead of the half at 20 points, 36-16, with 3:52 to play before the break.
 
Over the middle of the first half FDU combined to outscored King's 23-5 and received eight points from Santana, seven from Johnson and five from Ortman over the stretch. The Devils led by a 40-24 score at halftime.
 
FDU outscored King's 43-19 and shot at a 41.0-percent clip from the floor (16-for-39) in the second half as the Devils went on to defeat the Lions, 84-43. Over the final seven minutes of the game, FDU scored 18 of the game's final 24 points.
 
As a team, FDU shot 39.7-percent from the floor (29-for-73), 30.0-percent from three point range (15-for-50) and 66.7-percent from the free throw line (10-for-15). The Devils led statistically in rebounds (55-39), assists (16-5), blocks (5-1) and steals (9-1). FDU scored 24 points in the pain and 23 points off of turnovers.

The Devils will return to action on Wednesday, December 1 with their Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) opener against Delaware Valley University.
