  • The Royals produced the first two field goals of the second half in just 1:13, equaling their total field goals over the final six-plus minutes of the opening period. Gettysburg remained in control, remaining in front by at least 14 and pulling ahead by as many as 19 following a lay-up by freshman Ben Drury (Camp Hill, Pa./Cumberland Valley) which made it 42-23 with 15:07 to play.
  • After shooting just 5-of-31 (16.1 percent) in the first half, Eastern Mennonite managed to get back in the contest by shooting over 50 percent in the second period. The Royals used a 15-5 run to pull within nine (47-38) on a three-pointer by Jones at 9:04.
  • The Bullets maintained a double-figure lead for most of the remaining time, but an old-fashioned three-point play by Daijordan Brown sliced the margin down to seven (57-50) with only 2:35 remaining. Schaller showed he had ice in his veins, stepping up to the free throw line six times and knocking down five attempts over the final two minutes of play to help seal the win.
