Nazareth College 77 vs. Keuka College 65

Looking to avenge their season-opening loss yesterday evening, the Keuka College Men's Basketball team took an early lead over the Golden Flyers with a pair of threes by Devin Milton. The Wolves played with the lead early in the half, but Nazareth College would use a 7-0 run to erase the deficit and take the lead. Nana Oteng (Queens, N.Y. / Martin Luther) snapped the Nazareth run with a steal and layup. Later in the half, Keuka would regain the lead on a pair of free throws by Zayquan Warren but the Golden Flyers responded to regain the lead. The Wolves would cut the margin to one to make it 34-33, but Nazareth closed the half with eight unanswered to lead 42-33 at the break.

Nazareth surged out of the halftime break to extend their lead. DJ Billings (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Odyssey) hit a three for the Wolves, but that would be their only points in the first seven minutes of play. The Golden Flyers posted an 18-3 run to start the half, including 15 straight following the Billings three. Zayquan Warren snapped the 15-0 run, muscling his way under the basket, and laid it in. He later converted a three-point play to make it 61-48. On the next possession, DJ Billings found Warren in the post for another basket as the Wolves went on a quick 11-1 run following the under 12 timeout to get back in the game. Freshman guard Isaac McIlroy (Watkins Glen, N.Y. / Watkins Glen) made a bucket to cut the Nazareth lead to 10, 64-54, with eight minutes left in regulation. The Golden Flyers took a timeout to stop the Keuka momentum. Keuka College would cut the Nazareth lead to 10 multiple times in the final minutes, but were never able to break the margin to single digits. The Golden Flyers hung on for the 77-65 victory on Saturday.
