LAKE FOREST, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team rallied in the second half for the second consecutive contest this week to take down Lake Forest in a non-conference road game.

THE DETAILS
• Lake Forest scored the first eight points of the game and opened a double-digit lead at 17-6 with 13:01 left in the first half
• A Trevor Montiel jumper brought Benedictine within 22-19 at the 8:32 mark of the half
• The hosts scored seven straight to again lead by double figures and took a 35-28 lead into the half after a Michael Johnson three-pointer just before the buzzer
• The defense stood tall in the second half and started to create offense
• Trailing 37-28, Chris Hester opened an 11-0 run with a second-chance basket
• Marvin Agwomoh capped the run with a layup in transition to put Benedictine ahead for the first time at 38-37 with 15:59 remaining
• Cade Ellingson kicked off a 7-0 run with a jumper and a three from Anthony Lynch put Benedictine in front 50-43 midway through the second
• Nick Kosich recorded a second-chance basket with 4:12 to go to put Benedictine ahead by double figures at 62-52
• Lake Forest chopped the deficit to five points in the final minute but free throws accounted for the final score as Benedictine outscored the hosts 39-24 in the second
STAT LEADERS
• Agwomoh tallied 13 points off the bench to lead Benedictine
• Montiel was the only other player to reach double figures with 12
• Benedictine shot 41.3 percent in the game but struggled from three-point range, finishing just 4-of-25 (16%)
• Lake Forest was the sixth opponent this season to be held to under 70 points
