#13 DePauw Erases 18-Point Deficit to Defeat Wooster 100-97

Wooster, Ohio- The #13 DePauw University men's basketball team put on a shooting clinic late in the second half to defeat the College of Wooster 100-97.

Despite scoring first, the Tigers were quickly shut down by the Fighting Scots defense in the game's opening minutes.

Wooster would go on a 21-9 run following the Tigers' basket, giving up just one three-pointer by Elijah Hales across seven minutes of play.

DePauw gradually dug themselves out of the 12-point deficit thanks to some strong putbacks by Nolan Ginther and Nick Felke, yet the Fighting Scots were in rhythm and shot 58% from the field goal throughout the half.

Down 51-41 at the half, the Tigers continued to chip away at Wooster's lead but would have to close an 18-point deficit at the start of the second half before any momentum would swing in DePauw's favor.

Changing their tactics, the Tigers attacked the basket and turned up their defense, and in a matter of four minutes, the Fighting Scots were on up by six points with plenty of time left in the game.

Finally, getting within two points of Wooster, the momentum swung in favor of DePauw.

Thanks to an aggressive coast to coast play by Grant Niego that resulted in a timely three-pointer by Hales, the Tigers were back in the lead for the first time since the game's start.

With just five minutes left in the game, the two teams would trade baskets, but the combination of Josh Hall in the paint and Hales hitting threes around the arc proved to be too much for Wooster, resulting in the Tigers taking the first of two games against the Fighting Scots.
