How It Happened…

  • First Half
    • The lead changed hands seven times in the opening half. Antolini and Lord gave the Bullets a 14-10 lead with back-to-back buckets eight minutes into the contest, but Haverford tore off a 15-2 run over the next eight minutes, kicked off and ended with shots by Turkson. The Fords led 25-16 with 4:20 to play.
    • After sophomore Jack Rooney (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) hit a three-pointer with 3:38 remaining, the Fords locked down the hosts defensively, allowing only three made free throws and building a 10-point lead (32-22) by the break.
  • Second Half
    • Haverford built the advantage up to 11 (39-28) on a lay-up by Turkson less than four minutes into the period. Duffey helped steer the rally by the Bullets, putting up four points as part of a 10-2 run to pull Gettysburg within three (41-38) with 11:27 left in the half.
    • The Bullets forced a pair of ties before Lord connected on a corner three-pointer to put the team in front 50-47 at 8:15. Two freebies by Duffey pushed the advantage to five (52-47) 32 seconds later.
    • Back-to-back treys put the Fords back in front by a point (53-52), but Leder connected on a jumper to regain the upper-hand for Gettysburg. Ryan Jackson came up with the loose ball on a turnover by the Bullets and Wujciak converted in the lane for the go-ahead bucket with 4:42 left. Turkson added an old-fashioned three-point play and a lay-up to make it 60-54 with 3:07 on the clock.
    • The Bullets refused to back down and a deep shot by Leder sliced the deficit down to one (62-61) with less than a minute left. After a free throw by Turkson, Antolini drew a foul in traffic and calmly knocked down two free throws to tie the game 63-63 with 24 seconds left.
    • Haverford put the ball in Turkson's hands and the junior forward drew a foul on the way to the basket. He hit both free throws with five seconds left. Antolini's pull-up three-pointer from the right wing hit the front of the rim and bounced away as time expired.

By the Numbers

  • Gettysburg lost by six or less points for the fifth time in its last seven games. Three of those setbacks have come against the top three teams in the Centennial – No. 1 Swarthmore (74-70), No. 15 Johns Hopkins (77-71), and Haverford.
  • The Bullets finished 21-of-59 (35.6 percent) from the floor, while the Fords finished 26-of-67 (38.8 percent). Haverford owned a 47-42 edge on the glass.
  • Leder reached double-figures for the 17th time this season. He was 7-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
  • Antolini continued his drive for 1,000 career points with his 11th consecutive double-figure scoring performance. The senior is currently 51 points away from 1,000 for his career with four games remaining in the regular season.
  • Gettysburg is tied with Washington College for sixth in the conference standings. The Bullets are one game behind Ursinus College for the fifth and final spot in the league's postseason tournament.
