Rochester, N.Y., Feb. 7, 2020 – The No. 11-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team limited the University of Rochester 38.5 percent shooting and just four three-pointers in a 69-61 road win for the Bears Friday in Rochester, N.Y.

Senior DeVaughn Rucker recorded his fourth double-double of the season with a season-high 22 points (10-10 FT) and 12 rebounds, while sophomore Justin Hardy (13) and junior Jack Nolan (10) also scored in double figures for the Bears.
WashU shot 45.1 percent (23-51) from the field and hit 18-of-23 from the foul line. The Bears limited Rochester to 4-of-23 shooting from three-point range.
WashU improved to 16-3 and 7-1 in the University Athletic Association (UAA), while Rochester fell to 13-6 and 4-4 in the conference. The Bears moved into sole possession of first place in the UAA standings after No. 6 Emory and No. 25 Brandeis were both upset.
WashU started slow on the offensive end with six turnovers in the opening eight minutes of play and trailed 15-10. Rochester extended its run to 9-2 and took its largest lead of the game at 19-12 with 10:20 to play.
The Bears gained back the lead (20-19) with an 8-0 run, which included a one-handed dunk by Rucker. WashU took a 30-28 lead at half after shooting 45. 8 percent (11-24) from the field but turned the ball over 11 times.
Rucker led the Bears with 12 points and six boards in the first half.
Both teams struggled to score early in the second half, but it was junior Payden Webb who canned three-straight from beyond the arc to give WashU a 42-34 lead with 11:21. Rucker's one-handed fast-break dunk pushed the lead to double figures at 44-34.
The Bears put the game out of reach with a 9-0 run to make it 57-42 with 3:09 to play.
Ryan Algier led Rochester with 17 second-half points and nine boards, while Ross Gang added 13 points, six boards and four assists.
WashU closes out the two-game road trip at No. 6 Emory on Sunday at Noon (ET).
