The men's basketball team rallied to defeat the Beavers of CCNY, 80-73, on Saturday afternoon at Nat Holman Gymnasium in Harlem.
The host Beavers made a second-half comeback down 45-30 with 16:47 left to come all the way back to take a 61-57 lead with 6:27 remaining.
The visiting Bearcats never lost their composure and would rally back.
The two teams were tied a 65 with 4:30 left when rookie Sean Donnellan nailed a three for a 68-65 advantage.
The Bearcats added to their lead with free throws on a pair by Donnellan, one by Allen Villar, and a pair by Adnan Bajrami to jump ahead 74-65 as part of a 9-0 run.
Jack Reese hit a free throw with one minute left to grow the lead to 10 points (75-65) as the defense keep the Beavers scoreless since 4:30.
The Beavers made one last gasp on the final minute getting as close as 75-70 with 45 seconds left, but the Bearcats held on to win 80-73.
Bajrami led the Bearcats with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Ryan Graziano scored nine of his 10 points in the final 7:07 of the game.
Allen Villar posted a double-double of 10 points and 17 rebounds. He totaled 12 rebounds in the first half.
Romello Rashad and Yassine Denard scored 24 points each for the host Beavers.
The Bearcats will continue their busy week with a 7:30 p.m. CUNYAC home contest on Monday night against John Jay.
