EMORY, Va. – Freshman Josh Talbert (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) led all scorers with 16 and was one of five Yellow Jackets to score in double figures as the seventh-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team outscored Emory & Henry 93-60 in ODAC action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:
- Senior Corey Bays (Bel Air, Md./CM Wright) nailed a three-pointer five seconds into the contest, and a three-point play by sophomore Ian Robertson (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) gave the Yellow Jackets a 6-2 edge with 17:50 left in the first period. The Wasps scored the next five points to go up one before two layups by junior Terry Woods (Burlington, N.C./Burlington School) and a pair of treys by Bays highlighted a 21-2 run as R-MC took a 27-9 lead with just under eight minutes remaining. After a pair of buckets by E&H, freshman Miles Mallory (Beltsville, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) hit two jumpers in an 8-2 spurt as the Yellow Jackets stretched the lead to 20 at 35-15 with 4:20 left. Junior Buzz Anthony (Arnold, Md./Archbishop Spalding) hit a three-pointer from the corner just before the buzzer as R-MC took a 42-22 lead at intermission. Mallory paced the visitors with 10 points, going 5 for 6 from the floor. Bays added nine points and had three rebounds. R-MC shot nearly 60% from the floor (17-29). The Yellow Jacket defense forced 11 turnovers and held E&H to 33% shooting from the floor (8-24) in the opening period.
- Miles had two field goals and senior Korey Turner (Midlothian, Va./Amelia Academy) had a three-pointer and a layup as R-MC started the second half on an 18-5 run to take a 60-27 lead with 14:30 left in the contest. A 14-5 spurt by the Wasps cut the deficit to 24 at 65-41 with 12 minutes remaining. Woods had nine points in an 11-3 run for the Yellow Jackets to make it 76-44 with 7:15 left. Sophomore Daquan Morris (Philadelphia, Pa./Hill School) had seven straight points and freshman Noah Lindsay (Moseley, Va./Benedictine) had the final bucket of the game for the Yellow Jackets in a 93-60 victory.
By The Numbers:
- The Yellow Jackets had five score in double figures. Along with the 16 by Talbert, Mallory had 14, Woods added 13, Bays put up 12 and Anthony finished with 10.
- R-MC shot 61.5% from the floor (40-65), including 64% in the second half (23-36). Mallory went 7 for 8 on field goals, while Talbert was 7-11.
- Anthony paced the Yellow Jackets with seven rebounds, while junior David Funderburg (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford) grabbed a season-high six.
- R-MC had 23 assists on 40 field goals. Anthony led with six, while Talbert dished out four.
For The Record
- R-MC won its first 12 games of the season for the fifth time in program history. The Yellow Jackets are off to their best start since winning their first 13 contests of the 2009-10 season.
- The Yellow Jackets have won 18 of the past 19 meetings with the Wasps.
- R-MC has scored at least 90 points in three of its past five contests.
- The Yellow Jackets had five players score in double figures for the third time this season. It also happened at St. Mary's (Md.) and at home vs. Lebanon Valley.
