KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost on Saturday to Penn St.-Abington 89-81 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.  

Nana Oteng (Queens, N.Y. / Martin Luther) led Keuka College (1-6, 0-1 NEAC) with 20 points off the bench. Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) added 19 for the Wolves. Both Milton and Oteng tied for the team lead with seven rebounds.

Nana Oteng hit a three for Keuka with 14:22 left in the first half to tie the game at 11-11 as the two teams traded baskets early. The Nittany Lions answered with back-to-back threes to take a six-point lead. Abington later extended the advantage to seven midway through the first. The Wolves fought back in the half. Jordan Lewis (Houston, Texas / Home-schooled) hit a three to make it a one-point game, 29-28. A Milton layup gave Keuka a 34-33 lead with five minutes left. Abington quickly regained their lead and led 45-40 at the half.

The Green and Gold came out of halftime with four straight points to cut the lead to one. After an Abington free throw, Elijah Smalls (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Academy) knocked down a three to give the Wolves a 47-46 lead. The Nittany Lions regained the lead on the next possession. Keuka College remained in touch with Abington, but never drew the game back. The visitors took their largest lead of the game, 10 points, with four minutes left in the game. Six would be as close a Keuka would get it after that as the Wolves fell to the Nittany Lions 89-81 on Saturday.

  • Keuka College had their two-game winning streak over Abington snapped. The Wolves are now 5-9 all-time against the Nittany Lions
  • Penn St.-Abington used their size to their advantage. The Nittany Lions were +24 (46-22) in points in the paint and +20 (56-36) in rebounds
  • The Wolves forced 23 Abington turnovers and was able to take advantage. Keuka scored 31 points off of turnovers on Saturday
  • Both Devin Milton and Nana Oteng set new career-highs for scoring
  • In total, Keuka shot 11-31 from three-point range. Both makes and attempts rank in the top ten in program history for a single game

Up Next for Keuka College: With the semester ending, the Wolves now enter the winter break. Keuka College will return to action in 2020 as the Wolves host Alfred University on Monday, January 6 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
