Big Second Half Pushes Baruch Past Hunter in CUNYAC Opener

The Baruch College Bearcats began their CUNYAC schedule on a winning note by defeating the Hawks of Hunter College, 75-58, on Friday night at the Hunter Sportsplex in uptown New York City.

The CUNYAC opener was a tale of two different halves.

In the first half, the visiting Bearcats fell behind early 20-5 and trailed at halftime, 36-23, at Hunter's Homecoming.

In the second half, the Bearcats started by scoring the first 15 points and quieted the crowd by taking the lead, 38-36. They never looked back out-scoring the Hawks, 52-22, during that entire second half display.

The host Hawks only shot 18% (6-for-31), while the Bearcats took off shooting 53 percent (19-for-36) in the game-busting final 20 minutes.

Sean Donnellan scored all of his 14 points in the second half as part of five total players in double-figures this evening.

Benjamin Boateng (18 points, 6 rebounds), Ryan Graziano (14 points, 6 rebounds), Emil Purisic (13 points, 9 rebounds), and Adnan Bajrami (10 points, 8 rebounds) all had a big game.

Gio Gabbidon led the Hawks with 17 points.
