GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy had a big second half to go on and rally past Arcadia, 75-63, to capture the Battle of 309 Crown Tuesday night in a loud Griffin Complex.

The Griffins shot 34% in the first 20 minutes and trailed by four at the half, but they came out in the second at a 14-for-30 shooting clip and limited the Knights to just a 32% effort from the floor.

Austin Harriott led four players in double figures with 21 points and also pulled down eight rebounds. 15 of those 21 points came after halftime. Rich Dunham (16 points), Jeff Seigafuse (14 points), and Somah Slewion (10 points) also went for double digits each. Dunham kicked in six assists and was a perfect 14-for-14 from the free-throw line.

In the first half, no team led by more than six, keeping each other within striking distance. Dunham would hit the second of his three free-throw attempts late in the stanza before a three from the Knights sent Arcadia up by four at the break.

Slewion's driving finish through the lane put the Griffins up 44-40, but on the next sequence, a key defensive play brought the house to their feet and looked to help turn the tide for good. Seigafuse would cough up the ball in the lane, but hustled to the other end of the court for a huge block on the ensuing fast-break attempt and get the crowd roaring.

Arcadia did not go away and got within 55-54 with 6:34 to play, but Gwynedd used a 14-4 run over a four-minute span to lead by double figures in which they were able to stay unbeaten on the season.

Da'Kquan Davis had 17 points for Arcadia while Will Derr netted 11 and Steve Pendleton contributed 10.

The Griffins now take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Gwynedd Mercy is back at it on Saturday when they travel to Lebanon Valley.
