Sophomore Matt Morrow filled the stat sheet with 18 points and 21 rebounds in Nichols College's 85-64 win over Endicott College Saturday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action at the Nichols Athletic Center.
 
Senior Marcos Echevarria poured in 22 points – including the 2,000th point of his career – and now trails just Ryan Sheehan (2,106) and Billy Collins (2,014) in career scoring at Nichols. Junior DeAnte Bruton netted a game-high 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting for the Bison (6-0, 2-0 CCC) while sophomore Nate Tenaglia compiled six points, four steals, three boards, and two assists.
 
Junior Keith Brown led the Gulls (5-2, 1-1 CCC) with 25 points (8-of-22 FG) and also snared 15 boards. Senior Vinny Clifford was the only other student-athlete in double figures for Endicott with 14 points. The Gulls were held to just 32 percent shooting and were outscored 54-20 in the paint.
 
Nichols held a one-point lead (14-13) midway through the first before a 29-13 run to close the half gave it a 43-26 advantage. Bruton led all scorers with 18 points in the opening stanza while Brown had 11 to pace EC. Echevarria, meanwhile, canned a triple with 1:47 on the clock to surpass the 2,000-point barrier.
 
In the second half, the Bison lead swelled to 24 points following a dunk from junior Jerome Cunningham with 9:55 on the clock, and it never dipped below 16 points the rest of the way.
 
Three things you need to know...

-Tonight's contest marked the 33rd all-time meeting between Endicott College and Nichols College. The Bison have won four straight and six of the last seven, and now trail the all-time series by just three at 18-15.

-Nichols moved to 6-0 for the first time since the 1959-60 campaign, when it won its first seven games under head coach Hal Chalmers.

-The Bison held the Gulls to a season-low 64 points, which is also tied for the fifth-fewest points in 33 all-time meetings. The Gulls also scored 64 points in the 2017 CCC Championship loss in Dudley.
