LEICESTER, Mass. --- Head coach Brian Gorman won his 200th career game as the Becker College men's basketball team prevailed 82-66 over visiting Mitchell College on Tuesday evening in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play at the Leicester Gymnasium on the Becker campus in Leicester.

FOR THE HAWKS
• Senior guard Kareem Davis (Lowell, Mass. / St. John's) led Becker with 24 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists. The team captain shot six-of-eight from behind the three-point arc.
• Senior forward Dewayne Thomas (Lowell, Mass. / Lowell) scored 18 points with seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
• Junior forward Antonio White Jr. (Middletown, Conn. / Middletown) exploded off the bench with 18 points and seven rebounds in just 26 minutes.
• Senior guard Jayson Chavis (Waterbury, Conn. / Wilby) scored a season-high six points with three steals in just 13 minutes.
• Becker's 82 points were a season-high. Their 51.7 percent shooting from the floor and 58.3 percent shooting from behind the arc were also season-bests.
FOR THE MARINERS
• Senior guard Steffen Brunson (West Haven, Conn. / Hill Regional Career) led the Mariners with 17 points and eight rebounds.
• Junior forward Hasani Williams (Miramar, Fla. / Hallandale) scored 13 points and a game-high nine boards.
• Sophomore guard Landon Peabody (Waterford, Conn. / Waterford) scored 10 points off the bench.
TURNING POINT
• Becker went into halftime leading 41-37.
• The Hawks increased their lead to 11 before the Mariners rallied with a 7-0 run to pull to within four. Becker finally pulled away with a 13-3 stretch capped off with a put-back layup from Thomas with 4:56 to go in the game, going ahead 73-58.
GORMAN's 200TH
• Gorman has coached the Hawks since the 2008-2009 season, and has led the program to unprecedented success. Becker has won two NECC championships under Gorman's guidance and has reached the NCAA Tournament three times.
UP NEXT
The Hawks will be back on the court on Thursday when they travel to Southern Vermont College in a re-match of last season's NECC finals. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Mariners will play next on Thursday when they travel to New England College for a 7:30 p.m.
