HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening five minutes, the team's traded buckets but Oswego never trailed, giving way to a 22-0 run over 7:53.
- After a good New Paltz layup, the Lakers closed the first stanza on a 13-2 spurt for a 33-point, 44-11 advantage at the break.
- The 11-points the Lakers allowed in the opening 20 minutes is the least amount of points a Jason Leone-led Oswego squad has surrendered in any half in his eight years at the helm.
- New Paltz would begin the second half strong, cutting the lead to 15 but Oswego would be able to double its advantage over the final 10 minutes to collecting the victory.
- Quinn Carey led all scorers with 26 points on extremely efficient shooting, going 9-for-17 from the field, including 6-for-12 from distance. The 26 points also matched a season-high that was posted in a win at Buffalo State on Dec. 7.
- Also scoring in double figures was Brandon Gartland, notching 14 points to pair with eight rebounds.
- Gartland's rebound total trailed only teammate Tyler Pierre, who grabbed 11 caroms of the glass.
- All 15 Lakers saw action in the contest, with 12 of those appearing in the scoring column.
- Julien Crittendon (9), Louis Fedullo (6), Tim Marshall (6), Pierre (5), Liam Sanborn (5), Hunter Cole (4), Ishmael Chisholm (3), Cal McTigue (3), Bo Sireika (30 and Allen Durutovic (2) accounted for the other 46 Oswego points.
