PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Cortland opened the game on a 17-0 run and never looked back as the Red Dragons defeated Keystone College, 107-79, during the opening day of the St. John Fisher Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament. The win is the 400th at Cortland for 24th-year head coach Tom Spanbauer, who is now 400-240 on the Red Dragons' bench and 412-253 in 25 career seasons, including one at Alfred University.

Cortland (7-2) will face either St. John Fisher or Alfred State in Sunday's championship game at 3 p.m., while Keystone (0-11) will play in the consolation game at 1 p.m.

Nicky Bonura (Mount Kisco/Fox Lane) led Cortland with 20 points, including 5-of-12 shooting from 3-point range, and also added three assists. Ryan Schmadel (Oriskany) finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks. He made 4-of-8 treys. Ricardo Dominguez (New York City/Our Saviour Lutheran) totaled career bests of 14 points (5-of-7 field goals) and four assists and William Lee Moore (Rochester/Greece Olympia) also posted career highs with 10 points (4-of-5 field goals) and eight rebounds.

Also for the Red Dragons, Justin Cooper (Pine Plains/Stissing Mountain) tallied nine points, seven rebounds and five assists, Zach Lydon (Elizaville/Stissing Mountain) had eight points, eight rebounds and four blocks, and Rahim Akinwunmi (Elmont/Sewanhaka) registered career highs of eight points, four rebounds and two steals.

Ray Mills scored 22 points and Derrick Donigan had a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Giants. Austin Smith added 13 points and Javonte Matthews chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.

Cortland led 17-0 in the game's first four minutes. Bonura scored six points and Schmadel had five during that stretch. Keystone got back to within 25-13 over the next five minutes, but Cortland pushed its lead to 46-19 on a Moore 3-pointer with 4:58 left in the half and led 54-33 at intermission.

Cortland's lead was at least 17 points the entire second half. The Red Dragons led by as many as 38 points at 103-65 on two Akinwunmi free throws with 2:30 remaining before Keystone finished the game on a 14-4 run.

For the game Cortland shot 16-of-42 from the arc and 54 percent (37-of-69) overall, as well as 17-of-19 from the foul line. Cortland's 107 points are its highest total since a 108-105 overtime win versus Buffalo State in the 2011-12 season and the most in regulation since scoring 107 points at home versus Oneonta in the 1997-98 school year.
