RANDOR, PA – The York College men's basketball team used a big second half to race past Cabrini College 84-68 on Thursday night in the Spartans' final game of 2018 in Randor, PA. The Spartans conclude their non-conference schedule with a mark of 7-4. The Spartans' 11 non-conference opponents have combined to post a record of 65-44, good for a winning percentage of 59.6%. The win also snaps a two-game Spartan losing streak.

How It Happened
• The first half was very close as neither team was able to establish control of the contest. York had an early 5-0 lead. That would be York's largest lead until Colin Rimel hit a lay up with 6:11 left in the half to give York a 30-24 advantage. That lead would short lived as Cabrini scored the next six points to tie the game for the sixth time in the opening 16 minutes of the contest. The Spartans went on an 8-3 spurt keyed by three pointers from Zach Novick and Jason Bady as York led 38-33. The Cavaliers would close out the half by scoring four of the final six points as York took a 40-37 lead to the break.
• The Spartans got off to a strong start in the second half. York opened the stanza on a 13-5 run to take a 53-42 lead less than five minutes into the half. The Cavs answered with a quick 8-0 run, cutting York's lead to three. The Green and White answered with an 19-4 run to take control of the game for good. Junior Jared Wagner keyed the run with a trio of triples as York pushed out to an 18-point lead.
• York increased the lead to 20 on a Darin Gordon lay up with 5:12 left in the game. The Cavs trimmed the lead to 14 late before the Spartans settled for the 16-point win.
