Baruch Defeats CCNY in CUNYAC Opener, William Sixsmith Breaks Team's 3-Point Record

Andre Harris grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds and William Sixsmith had a record-breaking night to help the Bearcats defeat the visiting Beavers of CCNY, 82-58, on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

Sixsmith entered tonight's contest needing two threes to break the all-time men's record held by current Associate Head Coach Tammer Farid with 226. He quickly made two threes in the opening three minutes and finished the game with six to now own the mark with 231.

The Bearcats led throughout the game, but the Beavers kept things interesting trailing by three (36-33) with two minutes left before the break.

Things quickly changed and the Bearcats finished those two minutes by scoring seven straight points for a comfortable 43-33 halftime lead. They came out stronger in the second half by scoring 16 of the next 22 points en route to the CUNYAC home opener win.

Harris had a monster game with 21 points to go along with his career 18 rebounds. William Sixsmith finished his memorable night with 20 points and Allen Villar tallied 13 points and three blocks.

Mike White led the Beavers with 14 points.
