THE DETAILS
• Benedictine was able to lead for most of the first half, though neither team held larger than a four-point edge
• Bryan Jakobsze drained a three-pointer with 1:18 left in the half as Benedictine went into the break leading 46-43
• Lakeland quickly tied the game to begin the second half and went on to lead by six points midway through the half
• Benedictine came back to even the score three times, the latest of which came on a pair of free throws from Eric Grygo with 5:53 left
• The hosts again led by six with under two minutes to go
• Michael Johnson, making his first appearance of the season, scored three consecutive points to draw Benedictine within 87-86 with 34 seconds remaining
• Lakeland knocked down three free throws in the final moments and came down with a key offensive rebound
• Benedictine still had an opportunity to tie, but Johnson had the ball knocked away on a drive as time expired

• Grygo put together a career day, totaling a career high 32 points to go with 14 rebounds in his third double-double of the season
• Grygo, who set the single season record for field goal percentage last year, was near perfect from the field, making 14-of-15 tries
• Kenny Bogus added 15 points with Jakobsze adding 13 and Johnson 11
• Benedictine shot over 50 percent in each half, finishing the game at 50.8 percent but did not make a three in the second half after hitting eight in the first half
• Benedictine held a 36-29 edge on the glass and scored 46 points in the paint along with 20 second chance points
