John Baron Notches Coaching Milestone

CHESTER, PA. -- Head coach John Baron collected his 300th coaching victory as Gwynedd Mercy took down Penn State-Harrisburg, 86-77, Friday night in the Widener Tip-Off Tournament for Autism Awareness.

Rich Dunham led all scorers with 29 points, going 9-of-13 from the field, 3-of-4 from downtown and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. The junior added three steals, two assists, and a blocked shot. Jeff Seigafuse added 10 points as he also hit three three-pointers on the night.

The Griffins shot exactly 14-of-24 (58.3%) in each half, while hitting a total of 11 triples and scoring 31 points off of 21 PSU turnovers.

Khalil Williams paced the Lions with 22 points and eight rebounds. Harrisburg couldn't recover from a 9-of-31 (29.0%) performance in the first half, as Gwynedd led 43-28 at halftime.

Gwynedd Mercy moves on to face Widener tomorrow in the championship game. The Pride defeated Penn State Berks in the nightcap.

Now in his 17th season at the helm, Baron has amassed a coaching record of 300-143, good for a .691 winning percentage.
