Tommies bounce back to even season mark

St. Thomas freshman guard Anders Nelson scored 15 of his game-high 24 points in the second half in Saturday night's 83-78 road win over Emerson (Mass.).

The Tommies (1-1) used a 9-0 run midway through the second half to pull ahead for good at 64-55.

The Toms outscored Emerson 27-15 from 3-point range, shot 49 percent from the field, and also converted 20-of-24 at the foul line.

Elijah Hannah had 12 points and six boards off the bench. Connor Bair scored 11 points and Ryan Lindberg added nine.

St. Thomas starts its home season Tuesday night at home against St. Scholastica.
