Royals pull away in second half, drop Oles 79-57 in MIAC Playoffs

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Bethel University pulled away from St. Olaf for a 79-57 win in the semifinal round of the MIAC Playoffs on Friday night at Skoglund Center. 

Austin Korba had 17 points to lead St. Olaf (19-7), which made only 8-of-28 from the field in the second half. Bethel, which was paced by Jack Jenson's 17 points, was 17-for-29 (58.6 percent) in the second half. 

The game was tied, 33-33, at half. St. Olaf went ahead 33-30 on a Korba dunk in the final minute, before a Riley Dearing three-pointer tied the game. 

Nate Albers added 13 points and Robert Tobroxen 12 for the Oles, who were 6-of-26 from three-point range. Bethel was 9-of-19, including 6-of-10 in the second half. 

Matt Ambriz added 15 points, Derek Magnuson 14 and Bridgeport Tusler 11 and six assists for BU. The Royals 21-6 will hiost Augsburg, who upset top-seeded and third-ranked Saint John's.
