Knights Take Down Giants in First Round CSAC Action

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team, the No. 3 seed in the postseason, defeated Keystone College, the No. 6 seeded team, 78-65 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) first round game on Monday evening.

 

Tyaire Hudson scored a game-high 26 points in the win as five Knights netted double-digits. Raquan Brown-Johnson netted 17 points while Billy Cassidy added 11 and dished out five assists. Aaron Johnson-Chavis tallied a double-double with 15 rebounds and 10 points while adding six blocks. Isaiah Wilmore also scored 10 points.

 

Neither team could take control of the first half, which featured 11 lead changes and six ties. The Knights held a two-point advantage, 33-31, at the half.

 

Over the first part of the second half, Neumann began to build a lead and hit 10 point advantage, 49-39, on a layup by Hudson. Neumann would hold a lead as large as 14 during the half. Keystone got back to within nine, 71-62, with 1:46 left in regulation. Five free throws in the final minute, three by Hudson and two by Cassidy, sealed the win for the Knights to send them to the semifinals

 

Neumann (19-7) will head to No. 2 seeded Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday for semifinal action.
