KING'S MEN DROP CONFERENCE GAME TO DESALES
CENTER VALLEY -- The host DeSales University men's basketball team raced out to a 47-33 halftime lead and never looked back as the Bulldogs posted a 96-68 victory over King's College Saturday in Center Valley.
The Bulldogs torched the nets in the first half by shooting 69.0 (20-29) percent from the floor while the Monarchs made 40.6 (13-32) of their shots. DeSales was nearly as accurate in the second half, converting 65.5 (19-29) percent but heated up from three-point range in converting 66.7 (8-12) of their shots from downtown.
Tyler Millan led King's with 17 points and four rebounds while Connor Callejas had 15 points with three three-pointers. No other Monarch scored more than seven points.
Kweku Dawson-Amoah led DeSales with 20 points and seven rebounds while Shaundell Fishburn followed with 14 points and five boards. Luke Connaghan and Connor Jones contributed 11 and 10 points respectively.
King's returns to the court Tuesday when the Monarchs host cross-town rival Wilkes University at 8:00 PM in Scandlon Gymnasium. The game will mark the 100th all-time meeting between the two programs.
