Alma pulls away from Albion

ALBION, Mich. – Amari Hudson scored five points and Scott Maki and Ryan Stevens added 3-point baskets as Alma College ended the first half on an 18-3 run to pull away for a 70-54 victory over Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball action inside Kresge Gymnasium.

The lead changed six times over the first 10 minutes.

Albion led by as many as four early on. Jaylin Fordham scored giving the Britons a 7-3 lead.

The score was tied at 15 midway through the first half when Alma went on its decisive run.

Corey Wheeler was Albion's leading scorer, producing 10 points off the bench. Quay Burks led the starting unit with nine points.

Stevens led all players with 17 points. Jason Majerle (16), Rob Holmes (11) and Hudson (10) also scored in double figures for Alma.

Albion (3-11 overall, 0-3 MIAA) will play its next three games on the road, starting with a 3 o'clock Saturday date at Kalamazoo College.
