CHICAGO – Ryan Lowe produced his first double-double at the collegiate level, Nathaniel Collins set a season-high with 17 points and Corey Wheeler achieved his first double-double of the season in Albion College's 81-76 overtime loss at the University of Chicago Wednesday night.

Collins scored 12, hitting 5-of-7 shots from the field, as Albion surged to a 39-29 lead at halftime.

Albion led by 18, 55-37, when Collins knocked down a 3-point basket with 15 minutes left in regulation.

The Maroons scored the next 20, surging to a 57-55 lead on Noah Karras' basket with nine minutes left.

Neither team led by more than three points from that point on in regulation. Albion forged a tie at 70 on Wheeler's layup with time winding down.

Lowe and Adam Davis scored on Albion's first two possessions of overtime, and the Britons led 76-74 on Wheeler's layup with 1:25 left.

Collins missed a 3-point shot that would have tied the score late in overtime and the Maroons tacked on two more free throws.

Lowe made all nine of his shots from the field to finish with 20 points. It was his first career game scoring in double figures. He added 13 rebounds.

Wheeler chipped in with 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Albion (1-6 overall) returns to the Chicago area next Tuesday for a non-league game at North Central College.
