LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team took the lead for the first time with just over four minutes remaining and was able to streak past Marian University to win the home and conference opener

• Marian opened the game with a 11-0 run and led by 14 less than six minutes into the game
• Benedictine used a 12-4 run to whittle the lead down to six points at 20-14 near the halfway point of the first on a three-pointer from Brayden Olson
• The visitors responded by extending the lead to 13 points at 30-17 with 5:25 left in the half
• Olson finished a three-point play late to pull Benedictine within 32-25
• Marian held a 37-29 halftime advantage
• Benedictine tightened on defense and started to hit shots in the second half after shooting just 29 percent in the opening 20 minutes
• Olson dropped in a layup to begin the second half as Benedictine surged to within one point at 37-36 with a 7-0 spurt
• Kenny Bogus brought Benedictine within 44-40 at the 15:20 mark before Marian scored nine straight to move ahead 53-40
• The deficit remained at double digits until Olson hit a jumper at the 11:20 spot
• A three-pointer from Olson again brought Benedictine within four at 61-57 with 8:59 left
• Once again, Marian was able to pull ahead by double figures at 67-57 with 6:50 to go
• After rallying from down 14 to tie on Tuesday at North Central, Bogus opened a 12-0 run to put Benedictine ahead at 69-67, making a three to hand Benedictine the lead with 4:27 remaining
• Benedictine went on to lead by seven points at 78-71 with just 55 seconds left before hanging on for the victory
• Benedictine shot 48.4 percent in the second half and finished at 40 percent for the contest
• Benedictine held a 42-31 advantage on the glass
• Olson bettered his career high, set on Tuesday, by scoring 37 points
• Olson made 11 field goals including seven triples
• Bogus added 18 with Zach Gorney kicking in 11
• Eric Grygo finished with 10 rebounds in 14 minutes before fouling out
