How It Happened
Lebanon Valley made it look easy in an 89-65 victory over New Rochelle at Sorrentino Gymnasium in the team's first matchup of the 2017 Rinso Marquette Tournament on Friday night, Nov. 17.

Andy Orr posted his second double-double in as many games and the Flying Dutchmen (2-0) set a new program record for free throw attempts as a team with 56. LVC's 40 makes from the charity stripe also tied a program record.

The Dutchmen set the tone from the jump when they raced out to a 17-0 advantage. Orr, Sam Light, and Ricky Bugg did the damage in the early going before a layup by Andrew Eberhart stretched the lead to 23-4 at the 11:41 mark.

Lebanon Valley poured it on as the half wound down and Collin Moore's free throw with 26 seconds remaining before halftime gave the home team its largest lead of the opening 20 minutes at 53-20 heading into the break.

LVC's advantage held near 30 points for the early portion of the second half and Light's pair of free throws with 10:54 left to play extended the lead to 71-37.

The team's freshmen got into the act late in the contest, with Zach Tucker tallying nine points in his second collegiate game, Justin Abdo coming up with two monster blocks on the defensive end, and Gordon Shouler capping the game's scoring with a breakaway layup with less than a minute to play.
