MADISON, N.J. (February 18, 2017) -- In a storybook finish, senior Donte Ali posted his 1,000th career point with 1:49 left to go in his final game with the FDU-Florham men's basketball team on alumni day in a 95-87 overtime victory over King's College (Pa).

The Devils welcomed back over 40 alumni throughout the day and finished their season with an 8-17 record.

Ali was just five points short of the milestone with just three minutes remaining in the game when he sank his first three-pointer on the season to get within two.

With four fouls and just over a minute, Ali completed the dramatic achievement on a good jump shot to become the 31st player in program history to join the 1,000 point club, finishing with one over.

The senior captain notched a double-double, garnering 17 points and 12 rebounds and adding seven assists, one block and two steals.

FDU-Florham led the Monarchs, 80-77, with 13 seconds left on the clock following a good shot by sophomore Eric Ray from behind the arc.

Still, King's fought back as Jake Barber knocked in the tying three-pointer with two seconds remaining to force overtime.

In the overtime period, Ray and sophomore Anthony Mitchell contributed four points while senior James Moran hit a trey and freshman Rajaan Dixon put up two to successfully dethrone the Monarchs.

Mitchell and Dixon finished the night with 19 points each while sophomore Darren Davy recorded 10 and Moran finished with nine.
