Gallaudet suffers first conference loss of the season at Morrisville State

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University men's basketball team suffered its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) loss of the season here Sunday as Morrisville State College clipped the Bison, 96-90. The loss snaps Gallaudet's nine-game winning streak and its the first setback for the Bison in January.

Gallaudet (15-4, 13-1 NEAC) and Morrisville St. (11-5, 8-2 NEAC) got into an offensive showdown between the top teams from the south and north divisions. 

The Mustangs raced out to an early 12-4 lead but the Bison came back and built a nine-point lead, 35-26. Freshman guard Noah Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) hit a shot from behind the 3-point line with 7:23 left in the first half.

However, the Mustangs fought back eventually regaining the lead with just four seconds left in the first half. Morrisville State took a 46-45 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.
