Men’s Basketball Drops Game Against SUNY Cobleskill

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost to SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game on Sunday by the score of 77-60.

The Wolves (1-11, 1-6 NEAC) take to the road next weekend for a pair of conference games. The Green and Gold will face Bryn Athyn College on Saturday and Penn St.-Abington on Sunday.

Trevor Powell (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn) led Keuka College with 17 points. He also tied for the team lead with eight rebounds on the day. He was tied with sophomore Dekhari Stewart (Ithaca, N.Y. / Newfield). Stewart set new career-highs in both scoring and rebounding with 10 points and eight rebounds. Sam Brown (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee) finished with a season-high 10 points in the loss.

After missing his first attempt, sophomore Sam Brown knocked down his next two three-pointers as Keuka College took an early 6-4 lead over SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday. The Fighting Tigers had a response, however. They combined defensive stops with baskets at the other end to grow a lead. Keuka College had a small 6-0 run halfway through the frame to make it 23-20, but Cobleskill responded with an 11-0 burst to take command of the half. SUNY Cobleskill led 47-27 at the break.

Keuka College came out strong in the second. They opened the half with six unanswered points. However SUNY Cobleskill found their rhythm and was able to reestablish their 20 point lead at 58-38 with 13 minutes left to play. The Wolves were unable to put a dent in the margin as they would fall to SUNY Cobleskill by the score of 77-60 on Sunday.
