Tigers Cruise Past Cal Miramar

LOS ANGELES — Andrew Johnson led four Occidental men's basketball players in double figures with 15 points as the Tigers cruised past Cal Miramar University 75-53 at Life Pacific College on Saturday.

Johnson, Oxy's leading scorer this season at 20.6 ppg, also grabbed 10 rebounds for his fifth double double of the year.

Austin Dewitz and Caleb Yellin-Flaherty each scored 11 points, and Joe Compagno added 10 for Oxy.

All 11 of Oxy's suited players played 5 minutes or more as the Tigers jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and only once had their lead cut to less than 10 in the first half. Jeevin Sandhu scored nine points and Brandon Ruotolo chipped in eight.

Harvest Smith and A.J. Mathis led Cal Miramar with 11 points each. 

Next Game: The Tigers play Sheperd University in their last non-conference game of the season on Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. at Rush Gym. Oxy resumes SCIAC play against Caltech at home on Thursday.
