JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team held on for the 69-68 overtime win at Millsaps College Monday evening to open Southern Athletic Association play 1-0. The Panthers improved to 5-6 overall with the win.
James McLean (Maitland, Fla./Winter Park HS) led with a team-high 15 points and Evan Lewis (Birmingham, Ala./Ramsay HS) finished with 14 points of his own, respectively.
Matty Rudak (Augustów, Poland/Millbrook School) rounded out the Panthers in double-figures with 10 points. And Harrison Deneka (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) continued his stellar play under the basket for the Panthers. He finished with a game-high 12 rebounds.
BSC returns to action on Friday, Jan. 6 at Rhodes College in a doubleheader with the women's team. The men tipoff at 8 p.m., while the women start at 6 p.m.
