The men's basketball team lost 78-57 to the Ducks from the Stevens Institute of Technology in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night in Hoboken, New Jersey.
The game was a tale of two halves.
In the first half, the visiting Bearcats took a lead into the halftime break with a 28-27 score. Chimaechi Ekekeugbor almost tallied a first half double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
In the second half, the Ducks stormed out of the locker room with a 22-5 run to break open the contest within the first five minutes.
They outscored the Bearcats 51-29 in that second half and overall shot 17-for-36 from three, including 12-for-16 during the second half, en route to winning their fifth game of the season.
Ekekeugbor finished the contest with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. George Smyth, Jr. in his first contest back in his home state totaled eight points and four rebounds.
Patrick Barron led the Duck with 18 points.
The Bearcats will play their final contest before the Final Exam Break on Friday at 7:30 p.m. against the Cougars of Medgar Evers College.
