DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Delaware Valley rallied from a 17-point deficit, but Hood College improved to 5-0 with a 67-64 victory. 

The win gave the Blazers the first 5-0 start in school history. The previous best of 4-0 was set last season. 

Inside the Box Score

• Scott Bolen turned in his second straight double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Bolen added three assists, two steals and a block to his afternoon. 
• Jared Ruiz netted a dozen points and three steals. 
• Trevor Magnuski scored 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists. 

How it Happened

• Hood used a 16-6 run in the first half to take 24-14 lead on a layup by Tanner Ruths with 4:51 left. The Blazers' reserves fueled the run with five points apiece by Ian Eversull and Michael Robinson. 
• The Aggies (3-1) trimmed the lead to eight, 28-20, on a Tyrea Williams' bucket with 1:48 to go in the half. Bolen converted a 3-point play to stretch the lead back to 11, 31-20, with 1:13 on the clock. The Blazers maintained the 11-point edge at the half, 33-22. 
• Hood appeared to be pulling away when a free throw by Magnuski made it 41-24 with 17:09 left in the game, but Delaware Valley regrouped. The Aggies went on a 24-6 run and took a 48-47 lead on a dunk by Williams with 10:04 on the game clock. 
• The ensuing seven minutes featured 11 ties or lead changes, the final of which came on a 3-pointer by Ruths with 3:03 left to make it 62-59. 
• The Blazers led 67-64 after two Magnuski foul shots with 33 seconds remaining. The Aggies were fouled with six seconds left, but Alex Matsinye missed the front end of the one-and-one. Matsinye tapped the rebound out to Mike Cianciulli, whose 3-pointer was off the mark. Daniel Wegener grabbed his eighth rebound of the day to seal the victory. 

Notes

• Williams had 13 points and 16 rebounds in the contest, but Hood held a 49-43 advantage on the glass. Williams went 6 of 7 shooting and blocked five shots. 
• While the Aggies attempted 36 3-point field goals, they made just nine (25 percent). 
• Hood was just 12 of 22 at the free throw line (55 percent), but Delaware Valley went only 3 of 9 (33 percent).
