MEADVILLE, PA – Four players scored in double-figures for the State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team but unfortunately the Hawks fell to D'Youville 87-80 in the final day of the Greg Richards Memorial Classic hosted by Allegheny.

The Hawks fall to 0-3 on the young season and will look to get back on track on Tuesday, Nov. 22 as New Paltz travels to Middlebury for 5:30 p.m. The Spartans improve to 1-2 on the year.

Senior Andrew Seniuk (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) led the offense with 17 points behind 7-of-9 shooting and a pair of three-pointers. Sophomore Nick Paquette (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) followed with 16 points (four three's) and eight boards while sophomore Brandon Tolliver (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) chipped in 13 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Sophomore Cory Garcia (Highland, NY/Highland) knocked down 12 points behind 7-of-10 shooting from the foul line while dishing out a team-high four assists. Freshman Matt English (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds off the bench and junior Dylan Balducci (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) knocked down two three's in reserve action.

In the first half, the Hawks trailed 17-6 but enjoyed a nice 17-6 run of their own to knot the game at 23-23 thanks to a Paquette deep ball. Again, the Spartans went ahead by five but New Paltz battled back to tie the contest at 38-38 due to a layup from sophomore Malik Seelal (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale). The Hawks went on a 6-2 spurt to close out the opening half ahead 44-40.

D'Youville answered back in the second half and the game went back-and-forth midway through the final session. Following a three by Seniuk, the Hawks went ahead 61-55 with 11:53 to play and New Paltz again went in front by six, 78-72 with just 4:15 to go.

Unfortunately, after being tied at 79-79, the Spartans closed out the contest on an 8-1 run to keep the Hawks away from the win column.
