Eggleston named to ECAC All-New England Second Team

DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College senior captain Irving Eggleston (East Lyme, Conn.) was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-New England Second Team.

The two-time Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year finished second on the team and third in the conference in scoring (18.4 ppg), and helped the Bison win a program-record 25 games this season. Eggleston – who was also named CCC Defensive Player of the Year and to the First Team – became the 26th student-athlete in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau for his career and finished with 1,298 career points – good for 12th all-time at Nichols.

Eggleston – who was also named to the D3hoops.com Northeast Region Second Team last week – scored in double figures in all but two games this year and scored 20-or-more points on 15 occasions, highlighted by a 32-point effort against Western New England on January 7. He also had 19 games with at least three steals and is tied for No. 1 all-time with 193 – a record he shares with teammate Gustave Koumare (Harlem, N.Y.). Eggleston ranks No. 6 in free throws made (336) in program history.

The Bison captured the CCC regular season championship for the third-consecutive season and advanced to the semifinals for the second time in three years. They went on the capture the programs first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship, defeating Anna Maria 105-96 on March 6 in New London, N.H.
