THOUSAND OAKS — Kory Hamane scored a team-high 18 points in his career finale, but the Occidental men's basketball team lost its last game of the season at Cal Lutheran, 69-60 on Monday.

Despite aggravating a sprained ankle he's dealt with the past couple of weeks in the first half, Hamane came on strong with 16 points in the second half, including 4 of 6 shooting from beyond the 3-point line, to keep the Tigers within striking distance of the Kingsmen. He drilled a 22-footer with a hand in his face with 4:40 left to tie the game at 53, but Cal Lu countered with a 7-0 run to take control of the game.

Oxy forward Andrew Johnson scored 14 points and had four assists while dealing with foul trouble in both halves.

Oxy guard Jay Miller scored 12 and Austin Dewitz added 10.

Jeremy Sulker-Hall scored 20 for Cal Lu, Dan Wade had 19 and Austin Cole had 13, including a trio of 3-pointers that halted any Oxy momentum late.

Season Impact: The Tigers finish the season 12-13 overall and 6-10 in SCIAC. Oxy narrowly lost 3 of 4 overtime SCIAC games after holding a lead with less than 5 seconds to play in regulation.

Cal Lutheran goes to 10-12 and 6-9.
