Baruch Defeats CCNY to Stay in Upper Half of CUNYAC Standings

The Baruch College Bearcats posted a 79-59 CUNYAC home win over the Beavers of CCNY on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

With the exception of the early part of the first half, the Bearcats led comfortably throughout the contest and scored 30 points off 29 turnovers committed by the visiting Beavers.

The Bearcats went on a 14-4 run late in the game to clinch the win to improve to an important 9-5 in the conference standings, while the Beavers fall to 6-8.


Chimaechi Ekekeugbor led four players in scoring double-figures this evening with 23 points (11-17 fg), five assists and four steals. Raymond De La Cruz had 19 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Doyin Isaac had another solid conference effort with 13 points and Edward Roscigno 10 to go along with four steals in the important home win.

Khalil Hamer and Salvatore Palazzolo (7-8 fg) led the visitors with 14 points each.

Baruch will return to action on Friday, February 12, with a 7:30 p.m. contest at the College of Staten Island Dolphins.
