The North Central College men's basketball team closed out the home portion of its schedule by completing a season sweep of a third College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) opponent on Saturday, celebrating its annual Senior Night by strolling past the Illinois Wesleyan University Titans, 89-69, at Gregory Arena.

The 13th-ranked Cardinals (16-6, 9-2 CCIW) had five players in score in double figures and led for most of the game, pulling in front with a 25-4 run late in the first half and adding a second victory to the 96-89 overtime win they posted on the Titans' home floor on Jan. 16.

Trailing, 14-13, midway through the first period, North Central scored 15 unanswered points over the next four points to take control, getting three-pointers from Kevin HonnJayme Moten and Alex Sorenson. The Titans (11-11, 5-6) got inside baskets from Ryan Coyle and Trevor Seibring to break up the rally, but the hosts followed with two free throws from Moten, two layups from Jagger Anderson and a fast-break score from Jaquan Phipps to extend the lead to 38-18 with 1:12 before halftime. IWU, however, got a jumper from Bryce Dolan and a buzzer-beating 80-foot three-point heave from Seibring to narrow the gap to 40-25 at the break.

The Cardinals led by double figures until IWU made 6 of 9 field goals in a four-minute stretch, outscoring North Central, 15-4, over that time frame and cutting the lead down to 65-59 with 6:52 to play. The home team responded with a 10-0 run of its own, started when Connor Raridon grabbed an offensive rebound and fed Honn for a layup and closed with Raridon's jumper in the paint which expanded the lead to 5-59 with 3:56 left. The Cardinals led by at least 12 points the rest of the way.

Sorenson finished with game-high totals of 23 points and 11 rebounds, making 10 of 16 field goals. Honn was a perfect 4 of 4 shooting from the floor and 7 of 7 from the line to finish with 16 points in 18 minutes, while Moten scored 13 and Anderson and Raridon each finished with 10. Raridon also recorded seven assists.

North Central head coach Todd Raridon recorded his 204th victory on the Cardinal sidelines, tying him with Bill Warden '55 for the program's career record for wins.

Seibring and Joel Pennington led the Titans with 15 points each, while Andy Stempel scored 12.

The Cardinals travel to take on Carthage College on Wednesday. The Red Men are 8-14 overall and 2-9 in the CCIW after Saturday's 69-47 loss to Augustana College Tipoff at Tarble Arena is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
