How It Happened

 

  • Leading by a point, 10-9 with three minutes played, the Ravens scored seven straight, ending with a three-point bucket from Charles Presley, to give themselves a 17-9 lead with 14:42 remaining in the first half. The Defenders would stay close, staying within seven points as Rosemont would lead 37-30 with 6:32 left in the first. But the Ravens would start to get separation from the visitors as layups from Clayton Wolfe, Marcus Thomas and Michael Lyde would put Rosemont in front by 13, 43-30 with just under five minutes to play.
  • A downtown hit from Itay Levy, followed with a Clayton Wolfe layup would put the Ravens in front 50-34 with 2:50 left in the first half. A last-second trey from Marcus Thomas would keep the Ravens ahead by 15 points, leading 55-40 at the break.
  • It was one run after another for Rosemont to start the second half, as the Ravens put the game away early in the period. A six-point run would give Rosemont a 63-42 lead with 18:09 remaining. A five-point run would extend the lead to 25 (68-43) with 14:36 left after a Wolfe three-point play. The six-point fun that followed ended with a Charles Presley three-point bucket as Rosemont secured a 28 point lead (74-46) with 11:06 left on the clock.
  • A basket by Chris Morgan would give Rosemont their largest lead of the game at the time, 86-54 with 7:06 and from there, the bench players for the Ravens would fill in to complete the game. The final points of the night came off of a Michael Lyde dunk to give the Ravens their largest lead of the contest, 99-65, which would be the final score.
 

Ravens' Top Performers

 
  • Rosemont placed five players in double-figures on the scoreboard, led by a career-high 22 points from Charles Presley. Presley shot 8-for-11 from the field, including a scalding 6-for-7 from beyond the arc. Presley also set a new program mark for three-point baskets in a game, breaking the old record set by Justin Chaney (12/5/2011 vs. Rowan) and Mitch Carsillo (12/7/2011 vs. Cairn).
  • Marcus Thomas scored 12 points and led the Ravens with seven rebounds with five assists.
  • Itay Levy was also hot from beyond-the-arc, shooting 3-for-4 downtown, 4-for-7 overall for 11 points.
  • Kyle Lafferty was shooting bullseyes from the field, going 5-for-6 for 10 points. He also had five assists.
 

For the Defenders

 
  • Summit had four players who scored 10 points apiece. Even Dougoud added seven rebounds to go with his 10 points.
  • Dan Decker, Dwayne Felder and Adam Brinkley added 10 points apiece to the Defenders' total.
