The Baruch College Bearcats lost a tough 79-72 CUNYAC home contest to the Lightning of Lehman College on Wednesday night in the ARC Arena.

Doyin Isaac scored 24 points (8-for-12 fg) to tie a career-high, while Chimaechi Ekekeugbor scored 16 points and Raymond De La Cruz had 15 in the disappointing home loss.

The two teams were tied at 47 with 10:04 left but the visiting Lightning scored seven straight to take their biggest lead of the second half, 54-47.

That forced the Bearcats to play catch up and Isaac played a big part in a late rally by scoring 16 of his 24 points in the final five minutes to get as close as 72-69 with 1:08 remaining.

Unfortunately, the Lightning finished that last minute by scoring seven of the last 10 points to stay in first place with a 6-1 conference record.

The Bearcats shot 43 percent (24-for-56), but only 9-of-29 from three. The Lightning shot 48 percent (29-for-61) and protected the ball by limiting the Bearcats to only six points off 11 turnovers.

Five different players scored in double-figures for Lehman with Olando Minott leading the way with 18 points.
