KING'S MEN POST 87-59 WIN OVER PENN STATE WILKES-BARRE
WILKES-BARRE — The King's College men's basketball team opened a 40-27 halftime lead and never trailed as the Monarchs posted an 87-59 victory over visiting Penn State Wilkes-Barre Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the win King's improved to 7-6 on the year while the Mountain Lions slipped to 3-9
Chris Fazzini paced five double-figure scorers with 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Nate Oliver followed with 15 points on the strength of a 5-for-9 shooting effort from three-point range. Derek Wilkins posted 11 points, two rebounds, and two assists while Dan Rutecki secured a double-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. John Fazzini was the Monarchs fifth double-figure scorer with 10 points and four rebounds.
John Dini tallied eight points and nine rebounds for King's while Noah Barofski and Connor Hughes chipped in with six and five points respectively.
Mason Moore led Penn State Wilkes-Barre with 20 points and nine rebounds while Shakur Jackson followed with 18 points and eight boards. Jheron Dawson chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds.
King's will return to Freedom Conference action Wednesday night with 8:00 p.m. road game at DeSales University.
