GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Men's Basketball team remains undefeated in conference play following an 88-62 victory over the Keystone College Giants on Tuesday night at The Griffin Complex.

Junior Cedric Elleby led four players in double figures, registering 23 points and 13 rebounds, both game-highs, for his fourth double-double this season. Senior Julian Hyden added 12 while Brian Hennessey and Courtney Cubbage totaled 10 apiece respectively as the Griffins (6-5, 4-0 CSAC) led from start to finish.

Off to a strong start, GMercyU went on a 7-0 run forcing two turnovers in the first three minutes of play. Continuing to push the tempo, GM easily built a double-digit lead with all five starters registering points early on. Elleby's bucket followed by Hennessey's three free throws, gave Gwynedd a 23-9 gap with over 12 minutes in the half. The Giants battled back, getting within 31-24 with 6:45 in the period but the Griffins ended the half on a 14-5 run to lead 45-29 at the break.

Continuing to build on their momentum from the first half, GM went on an 8-0 run to start the second, forcing another two turnovers in the process. Maintaining a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game the Griffins kept their foot on the gas, going up by as many as 26 points after a 19-6 run to close out the contest.

Hyden also added six rebounds and two assists and two blocks. Elleby got in on the block party also, totaling five. Senior Darnell Artis was one assist shy of tying a career-high as he dished out nine dimes.

The Griffins shot 45.2% (28-of-62) from the field compared to the Giants 36.5% (23-of-63).  Never relinquishing the lead, the Griffins only gave up seven turnovers compared to the Giants 15, which turned in 20 points for the home team

Devin Williams led the way for the Giants (0-8, 0-3 CSAC) with 22 points and 11 rebounds for their only double-double performance.  ShaShawn Drayton and Tyree Jones both chipped in eight.

The Griffins continue conference play at home as they welcome Marywood University on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
