No. 24 BC Cruises to Second in a Row at York

Jamaica, NY---With ten of eleven Bulldogs who saw action tonight scoring, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team cruised to their second victory in a row at York tonight, 80-46.  The No. 24 Bulldogs improve to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in CUNYAC play with the victory.  York drops to 2-11 and 0-5 in the conference with the loss.  The Bulldogs will be back in action at home on Friday, 1/8, to host Baruch in a conference doubleheader.  The men will tip off at 7:15 PM following the women's game, which tips off at 5:00 PM.  

Taking a 5-4 lead in a little over three minutes into the game, the Bulldogs never looked back, methodically building on their lead as the game wore on.

Leading 26-18 at halftime, the Bulldogs opened the second half with a 6-0 run.  They would then go on an 8-0 run giving them a 46-24 lead with 12:56 to go in the game. The Bulldogs closed the contest with an 8-2 run.  

The Bulldogs exploded for 54 points in the second half, shooting just shy of 67% from the floor as a team.  BC limited the Cardinals to 7-38 (18.42%) from the floor in the first half.  

Senior guard Egzon Gjonbalaj led BC with another double-double, leading all scorers with 23 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.  Senior forward Lorenzo Williams flirted with a double-double scoring nine points and grabbing ten rebounds.  Junior guard Chris McIllhatton provide efficient offensive support off of the bench scoring 14 points on 4-5 from beyond the arc and 2-2 from the free-throw line.
